This week, we sat down with Olivia Paredes, who teaches Kindergarten at Quest Collegiate Academy – Shenandoah.
Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Houston, Texas, and graduated from Evangel College in Springfield, Missouri. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2019 and teach Kindergarten at Quest Collegiate Academy – Shenandoah.
What inspired you to become an educator?
My ninth-grade Algebra teacher, Mrs. Bernsten, left a lasting impression on me and helped me discover my passion for teaching and helping others.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
Every day, my students teach me the importance of compassion, patience, and humor in the school day. Because of them, I continue to improve as a teacher and help them succeed in and out of the classroom.
What are you most proud of about your time with Quest Collegiate Academy – Shenandoah?
I am most proud of my professional growth and the things I have been able to help my students accomplish in the classroom.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
I enjoy the “small family” environment and am grateful to have the support and encouragement of an incredible staff and administration.
