Meet Human Resources Specialist Phyllis Cotton! Phyllis joined the ResponsiveEd family in 2000 and continues to play a pivotal role in the development of ResponsiveEd. Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Phyllis spent the first few years of her career as a Registered Nurse before moving to Texas, where she worked as an Occupational Health Nurse at a steel company in Houston. There, she discovered her passion for helping others and decided to pursue a degree in Business Administration to focus on Human Resources.
After moving to Lewisville, Texas, in 1986, Phyllis served in several Human Resource roles, including Director of Human Resources for Eagle Charter Schools, now ResponsiveEd. Throughout her tenure, she has continued to advance her Human Resources knowledge through the Texas Association of School Business Officers (TASBO) and earned the “Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBA)” certificate.
As a human resources specialist, Phyllis assists with Arkansas new hire processing and in creating and maintaining teacher service records. Additionally, this role allows her to support and assist school administrators in meeting specific certification requirements.
“It has been a privilege to have been a part of ResponsiveEd all of these years, to watch its growth, and to work with so many incredible, committed people,” said Phyllis. “Our Mission of helping students makes it all worthwhile.”
Thank you, Phyllis, for your hard work and dedication to our organization!
