Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Alma, Arkansas, and graduated from The University of Arkansas with a degree in Mathematics before receiving a Master’s degree in teaching. I joined ResponsiveEd last year and teach all levels of high school Math at Premier High School – Fort Smith.
What inspired you to become an educator?
Math has always held a special place in my heart. Throughout my career, I have seen students struggle with the subject and become reluctant to explore it further. I found that I could help students understand the more difficult concepts by making math fun and applying it to other areas of their lives.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me countless lessons such as patience and compassion. Yet, they continue to challenge me to become a better teacher. Without them, I would not be the educator I am today.
What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – Fort Smith?
I am most proud of my relationships with coworkers, students, and their families. I love being a part of a group of people who believe in making a difference in students’ lives and work hard every day to help them achieve their goals.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
I am grateful for the ability to get to know my students individually and the support I receive from my coworkers. I enjoy working with people who share my passion for education and the different ways to reach students.
