At the request of Texas Governor Greg Abbott, the Texas Education Agency recently released the names of education professionals on the Teacher Vacancy Task Force. Made up of 29 leaders in public education from a diverse set of communities across the state, ResponsiveEd is honored that Executive Director of Human Resources Casey Morgan is one of the appointed members.
Of the superintendents, teachers, stakeholders, and HR professionals appointed to the Task Force, Morgan is one of only two professionals from a charter school district. TEA Commissioner Mike Morath and Governor Abbott are hopeful that Morgan and the rest of the Task Force will collaborate and help school districts across the state attract, train, and retain more teachers.
The task force meets virtually every other month to discuss topics such as teacher certification flexibility, compensation, the academic and administrative demands related to COVID-19, and additional support for educators. Casey brings 13 years of HR experience to the Task Force and looks forward to making a difference in Texas schools.
“I am excited to be working with such a great group of educators from around the state and learning how they implement similar efforts in their districts,” said Morgan. “I am not only honored to represent ResponsiveEd, but more importantly, I am thrilled to represent and support our educators.”
