At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Anne Marie Wehling, who teaches literature at Founders Classical Academy – Rogers.
Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Michigan and graduated from The University of Wisconsin with a bachelor’s in literature and a minor in education. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2019, where I currently teach seventh and eighth-grade literature at Founders Classical Academy – Rogers.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I fell in love with literature in high school and knew that I wanted to impart that love of literature to others. I love watching my students experience a great work of literature for the first time.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students always help me to see a novel in a new light. Every day, they teach me something new and broaden my perspective by offering fresh insights into characters and their actions, which allow me to experience these stories all over again.
What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – Rogers?
I am proud of the progress I have made in incorporating classical pedagogy into my teaching, as well as my growth throughout my time here.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
The curriculum and the quality of students we have here are unmatched. I truly could not ask for a more supportive and dedicated group of educators to work with!
