In today’s world, education extends far beyond the walls of a classroom. One of the most impactful ways for students to learn is through travel. Student travel provides a unique opportunity for hands-on learning, allowing young minds to engage with history, culture, and global perspectives in a way that textbooks simply cannot replicate. From exploring ancient ruins to engaging in local traditions, these experiences shape students into well-rounded individuals, preparing them for success in an ever-evolving world.

This year, several ResponsiveEd schools provided students with the opportunity to travel across Europe and the United States. Over spring break, junior and senior students from Founders Classical Academy – Schertz embarked on a multi-city European tour, visiting cities like Berlin, Budapest, Krakow, and Prague. Meanwhile, students from iSchool High – Atascocita, Creekside, and University Park explored iconic sites in Washington, D.C., and New York City, including the White House, Mount Vernon, the Statue of Liberty, and Central Park.

“Our student trips complement our curriculum by allowing our students to visit the places they have studied while on campus,” said Founders Classical Academy – Schertz Headmaster Kelly Hunt. “When students travel, they step into new environments that challenge their perspectives and broaden their understanding of the world. Encountering different cultures, languages, and traditions firsthand fosters a sense of appreciation and respect for the world and people around them.”

Beyond the educational benefits, student travel creates unforgettable experiences that leave a lasting impact. These journeys provide students with stories to tell, lessons to reflect on, and moments that shape their personal and academic growth. Many students return from their travels with newfound interests, inspired to explore further opportunities, such as studying abroad, learning a new language, engaging in international volunteer work, or pursuing careers with a global focus.

“Embarking on these trips has been an incredible opportunity for our students and staff,” iSchool High at University Park Campus Director Bradley Sharp told us. “Students had a blast on our most recent trip, and we look forward to continuing to provide these experiences for our students in the future.”

In a world that increasingly values global awareness and adaptability, student travel is more than just an extracurricular activity—it is an investment in the future. The skills and experiences gained through travel prepare students to thrive in an interconnected society, equipping them with the knowledge, confidence, and perspective needed to navigate the complexities of the modern world.

Looking ahead to 2026, students at several campuses can look forward to expanding their horizons even further with planned trips to countries like Costa Rica, Greece, and Italy.
