iSchool High at University Park Alum Jadon West

At iSchool High at University Park, student success is defined not only by achievements in the classroom, but by the incredible paths graduates pursue beyond it. For alumnus Jadon West, that path has reached all the way to space.

Jadon is building a career in one of the most exciting frontiers of science and exploration. Most recently, on the team behind Artemis II, NASA’s first crewed mission to the Moon in over 50 years, launched on April 1 from Kennedy Space Center in Florida. During the mission, Jadon worked in mission control, playing a direct role in helping advance human space exploration.

A 2016 graduate of iSchool High, Jadon completed 40 college credit hours through the campus’s dual-credit partnership with Lone Star College. He went on to attend Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in electrical engineering with a minor in physics. Today, he works as a subcontractor supporting NASA on the Lunar Space Station project.

Jadon’s journey from a motivated high school student to a contributor on a NASA mission highlights the impact of early college access and a strong academic foundation. His success reflects what’s possible when students are equipped with the tools, support, and opportunities to succeed.

His success is also rooted in a family deeply committed to education. His mother, Julia West, is a math teacher at iSchool High at University Park, where she continues to inspire students in the same classrooms that helped shape Jadon’s future.

From dual-credit coursework to mission control, Jadon’s story serves as an inspiration to current and future students. It’s proof that with hard work and the right support system, the sky is the limit.
