Founders Classical Academy – East Lewisville Teacher Lucas Bezerra

This week, we sat down with Lucas Bezerra, who teaches Kindergarten through sixth grade and serves as the campus MTSS Coordinator at Founders Classical Academy – East Lewisville.
What inspired you to become an educator?
From a young age, I’ve been passionate about helping others reach their full potential. I was inspired by the positive role models in my life and felt called to provide that same encouragement, build their confidence, pursue their goals, and develop a lifelong love of learning.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me the value of patience and the understanding that each student learns and grows at their own pace. Being in the classroom has reminded me how important it is to slow down, listen, and meet every child where they are. They have also shown me that progress is not always linear and that small victories are just as meaningful as major milestones.
What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – East Lewisville?
I am most proud of the close-knit campus culture we have created for our students and their families.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
My favorite thing is being a part of a school where the leadership genuinely values and supports its staff. I’m grateful for the culture of respect, kindness, and professionalism they’ve fostered and their commitment to creating a positive environment.
