At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.

This week, we sat down with Jessica Weeks, who teaches English III and IV at iSchool High – The Woodlands.

Tell Us About Yourself

I graduated from Vanderbilt University and received my Master’s in English from Washington University. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2022 and teach English III and IV at iSchool High – The Woodlands.

What inspired you to become an educator?

My first college English professor had a tremendous impact on my writing skills and confidence in the classroom. She created a rigorous yet supportive learning environment that allowed me to thrive. Her influence inspired me to pursue teaching and strive to make that kind of positive impact on my students.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

My students have taught me that kindness should be at the core of everything we do. As educators, we never know what challenges our students face, so it is important to create a supportive and nurturing space and continue to cheer them on.

What are you most proud of about your time with iSchool High – The Woodlands?

I feel most proud when I help a student struggling with writing realize that their voice matters and they have something valuable to share. It’s rewarding to be someone who helps build their confidence.

What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?

My favorite part of working at ResponsiveEd is the people. I’ve learned so much from my coworkers, who are incredibly helpful, supportive, and kind.
