As we continue celebrating our 25th anniversary, it is an honor to recognize those who have been with our organization for many years. One such member of the ResponsiveEd family is Teacher and Academic Advisor Lauri Matthews, who has been instrumental in our mission to provide hope for over 15 years.
Teacher and Academic Advisor Lauri Matthews
Lauri currently serves students at our Founders Classical Academy – Carrollton. After receiving her Ph.D. in psychology, she spent several years as a leadership coach before transitioning to education and joining ResponsiveEd as a third-grade teacher.
In addition to teaching Biology at Founders Classical Academy – Carrollton, Lauri serves as an academic advisor, assisting students as they prepare for college. This role allows her to meet one-on-one with students to create personalized graduation plans and explore college and career interests. Additionally, Lauri coordinates tests, such as the SAT and AP exams, and plays a prominent role in organizing and participating in college visits and career fairs across the district.
“Working at ResponsiveEd has allowed me to continue to grow as an educator, and I am grateful to be a part of a team that supports one another,” said Lauri. “Every person brings a unique set of skills to the table and shares a passion for helping all students succeed.”
