Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Rio Grande City and earned my degree in the education field. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2008, where I am the ESL Coordinator and English I and II teacher at Premier High School – Palmview.ย
What inspired you to become an educator?
I have wanted to be a teacher for as long as I can remember. I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by individuals who inspired me to pursue a career in education. Witnessing their dedication inspired me to pursue the opportunity to guide and empower students, which motivates me every day.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
Aside from helping me stay up-to-date with the newest technologies, my students inspire me with their creativity and encourage me to see things from a new perspective. More importantly, they taught me the importance of empathy, patience, and the ability to grow as an educator and help them overcome any challenges they might face in the classroom.
What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – Palmview?
I am proud to be part of an organization that has such a transformative impact on the lives of educators and students! I love working with a team who shares their passion and skills to create a positive and nurturing learning environment. However, I am most proud of my role in leading a transition program for bilingual students studying in the U.S. for the first time. I am so grateful and happy to play a small part in their journeys!
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
The thing I love most about working for my campus is the endless growth opportunities. The support that PHS Palmviewโs leadership provides allows me to contribute to the goals and success of every student.ย
