At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Brooke Kinslow, who teaches English, Latin, Geography, and Humanities at Founders Classical Academy – West Little Rock.
Tell Us About Yourself
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in middle school education and continue to spend my summers working as a Zoofari camp educator at the Little Rock Zoo. I joined ResponsiveEd in January 2024 and teach English, Latin, Geography, and Humanities at Founders Classical Academy – West Little Rock.
What inspired you to become an educator?
My love of learning and curiosity about the world inspired me to become an educator. As a teacher, I hope my passion for education can transform lives and shape future generations.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me that happiness and joy can be found in even the smallest moments when we have a positive outlook on life.
What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – West Little Rock?
I’m most proud of the amount of classical literature and the creative ways I’ve been able to teach it over the past year. Seeing my students become engaged with literature has been so rewarding.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
I love that my school focuses on the “why” of great literature rather than just plot points and vocabulary. Because of this, I get to have deep and meaningful conversations with my students and listen to their thoughts and opinions on different topics.
