At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Bethany Sabogal, who teaches mathematics at Founders Classical Academy – Rogers.
Tell Us About Yourself
I am from Northwest Arkansas and graduated from Taylor University. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2016 and teach Mathematics at Founders Classical Academy – Rogers.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I was inspired to become a Math teacher while in high school. I noticed many Math teachers I had growing up were highly knowledgeable on the subject but not always the best at explaining it. I wanted to find new ways to explain often challenging concepts and make Math fun for all students!
What are some things that your students have taught you?
As I interact with my students, I have learned to improve and adapt my teaching based on their learning styles, needs, and personalities. Looking back at their assessments, I can see what I taught well and what I can improve on.
What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – Rogers?
I am most proud of the relationships built with students and their families. It is always exciting to watch my students succeed, and I love getting the opportunity to teach their younger siblings.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
I enjoy working with a team of educators who support one another and share a passion for teaching and making a difference in students’ lives.
