At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Aleisha Hall, who serves as a lead teacher, MTSS, and testing coordinator at Premier High School – Waco.
Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Waco, Texas, and received my bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University-Commerce. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2010 as a teaching assistant and currently serve as a lead teacher, MTSS, and Testing Coordinator at Premier High School – Waco. Throughout my time at the campus, I have been recognized as Regional Teacher of the Year by the district for the 2021-22 school year.
What inspired you to become an educator?
After joining the team at Premier as a college student, I quickly connected with the campus and realized that I wanted to pursue teaching as a career. After 14 years, I can say I truly enjoy coming to work every day and making a difference in the lives of my students.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have shown me it is never too late to achieve your goals. Because of their example, I fulfilled my dream of returning to school to earn my graduate degree. Many of my students juggle school and full-time jobs, and witnessing their hard work and dedication inspired and encouraged me to overcome my own obstacles and achieve my goals.
What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – Waco?
I am most proud of my growth as an educator. Throughout my time at the campus, I have continued to learn and overcome different obstacles with the guidance of my colleagues, and I hope to one day take on a leadership position.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
I love working for ResponsiveEd because of the supportive campus leadership who genuinely cares about me as a person and my professional growth. I am grateful for my campus director and team, who inspire me daily to do my very best for my students.
