TexasWorks – Corpus Christi and Premier High School – Corpus Christi emergency response CTE students hosted a rescue repelling demonstration on Saturday, March 21. In partnership with the National First Responder Training Complex (NFRTC), the schools are training students in the necessary skills to become first responders. Program instructors were available to discuss the critical importance of building a skilled emergency response workforce.
“This unique, first-of-its-kind partnership is about opening doors for students and preparing a skilled workforce in an area of critical need,” said Campus Director Christopher Vasquez. “By working with the National First Responder Training Complex, our students gain access to a state-of-the-art facility where they can receive hands-on training, complete their education, earn industry certifications, and step confidently into meaningful, high-demand careers in first response.”
TexasWorks provides adult learners, ages 18-50, flexible learning opportunities designed to support diploma completion and career advancement through specialized career and technical education (CTE) pathways.
Premier High School, specifically for high school-aged students, provides personalized education that prepares students for the workforce. Its CTE programs give students hands-on training, certifications, and real-world experience in high-demand fields.
