We are excited to share the inspiring story of Kye Vera, a standout ninth-grade student at iSchool Virtual Academy (iSVA), with the help of iSVA Communication & Relationships Manager Genavieve Meyer.

Growing up in the countryside has given iSVA student Kye Vera a unique bond with animals—one that many students in urban areas don’t often get to experience. Kye has always had a deep passion for animals and has never shied away from the hard work of caring for them.

From an early age, Kye began raising cattle on his family’s property. Over time, he noticed that the cattle became more responsive to training through daily interaction and care. “It isn’t easy work,” Kye’s mother shared. “The animals require consistent grooming, proper care, and a balanced diet. It’s tough work in the heat and cold, but the end result is always worth it.”

Motivated by a desire to share the beauty of the animals he raised, Kye began entering cattle shows last year. With his family’s unwavering support, he now travels across the United States to participate in cattle shows and rodeos—and his dedication is paying off.

Recently, Kye placed first for Grand Champion Red Brahman Heifer and Reserve Grand Champion Red Brahman Bull at the prestigious San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo.

Kye’s journey is a testament to his dedication, passion, and love for the animals he’s grown up with. Thanks to the flexibility of iSVA, Kye can continue his education while actively pursuing his dreams. As his mother said, “We’re so thankful that iSVA offers the flexibility and opportunities to support his goals.”
