ResponsiveEd is thrilled to announce that students Nikki Dash and Edison Richter, seniors at iSchool High at University Park and iSchool High – The Woodlands, respectively, have been named College Board Commended National Scholars.

The National Merit Scholarship Program is an academic competition for high school students to receive academic recognition and scholarships. Commended Scholars get recognized for exceptional performance on the PSAT/NMSQT exam. Approximately 34,000 students earn the Commended Scholar status yearly, placing them among top-performing students nationwide. Although they do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, their scores are among the top three to four percent nationwide, opening doors to additional scholarship opportunities and providing them with a significant academic credential as they begin applying to colleges and universities.

“Nikki is an exceptional student with a passion for bio-med, and she has set a remarkable example for her classmates,” said iSchool High at University Park Campus Director Bradley Sharp. In addition to this recognition, Dash also holds the distinction of being the youngest HOSA president in Lone Star College history.

“We could not be more proud of Edison and all he has accomplished,” said iSchool High – The Woodlands Campus Director Michelon Thompson. “This recognition is a testament to their hard work and dedication as well as the supportive and challenging learning environments at our iSchool High campuses.”

The recognition of these students as Commended Scholars exemplifies the commitment of iSchool High at University Park and iSchool High – The Woodlands to fostering academic excellence. Through mastery-based learning, college readiness, and dedicated educators, our schools provide a robust educational foundation that prepares students for lifelong success.

Congratulations to our Commended National Scholars, and we look forward to seeing all you will accomplish in the years to come!
