At ResponsiveEd, we proudly offer mastery-based programs through campuses like our iSchool High at University Park, which allow students to complete their coursework on a personally appropriate timeline and even graduate early.

The early college high school is housed on the campus of Lone Star College-University Park, allowing students to enroll in courses at the college level. These students can graduate with two years of college credit and enter a four-year college as a junior while most of their peers are just starting college at the freshman level.

iSchool High at University Park Student Nikki Dash

One such student, Nikki Dash, is already putting her early college education to use. While enrolled in dual-credit courses at iSchool, she joined Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA). HOSA is a global organization that empowers students to become leaders in the healthcare industry through education, collaboration, and hands-on experience. In addition to balancing her high school and college courses, she has spent much of her time attending HOSA meetings and volunteering for community service projects.

Her commitment to giving back earned her the distinction of becoming the youngest HOSA President at Lone Star College at only 16 years old for the 2024-2025 school year.

Her involvement in various organizations at iSchool High at University Park, including serving as Interact Club President, underscores her dedication to making a difference in the healthcare field. “As a high school student earning college credit, the dual-credit program at iSchool has only given me more confidence and has pushed me to set and accomplish harder goals for myself,” said Dash.

Looking ahead, Nikki has big plans for her future. After graduating from iSchool next spring with her high school diploma and associate’s, she plans to attend a four-year university to pursue her bachelor’s in neuroscience before applying to medical school.

Nikki is a shining example of the unique opportunities that iSchool High at University Park offers its students. As the youngest HOSA president at Lone Star College, she reminds her peers that anything is possible, laying the foundation for students looking to get ahead on their academic journeys.
