Executive Vice President of School Operations Dr. Mary Ann Duncan

Meet our Executive Vice President of School Operations, Dr. Mary Ann Duncan. Dr. Duncan has been a member of the ResponsiveEd family since 2012 and has played a critical role in helping ResponsiveEd develop into the organization it is today. As a certified teacher and school administrator, she brings a wealth of education and leadership experience to the School Operations division and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degree in Elementary Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership.

Dr. Duncan began her career serving as an instructional aide for inner city schools in Los Angeles County before moving into classroom, district, and building-level administrative roles in other districts. As her passion for education and student success grew, she took on the role of Director of State Public Charter Schools and Homeschooling in Arkansas. This position ultimately led her to Texas where she was allowed to use her experience in the field to improve and develop operations in our district.

As Vice President of School Operations, Dr. Duncan oversees multiple departments, including our Counseling Services, Health Services, Safety, and Security, Child Nutrition, Records Retention, Special Populations Data Validation, District Athletic Programs, and Quality Standard Reviews. Her position allows her to ensure that all students have the resources they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.

“The people I work with and the students we serve are why I love coming to work every day,” Dr. Duncan said. “I believe in giving students different options when it comes to education,” she added. “Whether that is online, homeschooling, traditional public, private, or public charter school, I want to help students find what works best for them.”

When she isn’t busy serving our students, you can often find Dr. Duncan spending time with her husband Tom, and their family learning about different cultures, languages, and art through her love for travel.

Thank you for your hard work and dedication to all students, Dr. Duncan!
