Ignite Community School – Mesquite, a tuition-free public charter school, proudly hosted a First Responder Appreciation Breakfast on March 5 alongside Mesquite Mayor Daniel Aleman and Pastors Harry Sewell and Joanna ‘JoJo’ Herrel of Faith Family Cathedral.
The event welcomed a wide range of first responders, including members of EMS, Police, the Sheriff’s Department, SWAT, and representatives from Mesquite, Balch Springs, Seagoville, Sunnyvale, Dallas College PD, Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, and Dallas County Constables.
Guest speakers included author and leadership coach Doug Stringer, who spoke with first responders about the power of perseverance, inner strength, the importance of a call to service, and the role of unwavering faith in overcoming challenges.
In addition to the meaningful conversations, all attendees received thoughtful resources, including books on leadership and 365 Daily Devotions for Law Enforcement. These gifts served as a small token of appreciation for the immense sacrifices and commitment our first responders show daily.
“We are so grateful to have been a part of this special day,” said Ronald Shepard, School Operations Manager for Ignite. “It served as a reminder that while first responders may often operate behind the scenes, their work is seen and valued. We extend our deepest thanks to everyone who made this event possible and the brave men and women who dedicate their lives to protecting and serving our communities.”
