The ceremony highlighted the unique partnership between Premier High School, which serves students in grades 9–12, and TexasWorks, which provides adult learners ages 18–50 with opportunities to complete their high school diplomas while earning industry-recognized certifications. Guests heard from campus leaders about how personalized learning plans, self-paced coursework, and flexible scheduling are helping students balance education with work and family commitments.
“This ribbon cutting represents a commitment to our students and this community,” said Campus Director Jose Balderas. “We are proud to offer programs that not only help students earn their diplomas, but also equip them with the skills and certifications needed to succeed in today’s workforce and beyond.”
Following the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to tour the campus and explore its growing Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, including Certified Medical Assistant and Welding. These hands-on pathways are designed to prepare students for high-demand careers, providing them with practical, real-world experience.
The event showcased the strong community support behind the campus and its mission to expand educational access and workforce readiness across the Rio Grande Valley.
