At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Tiffany Wood, who teaches Kindergarten at Founders Classical Academy – Bentonville.
Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Bentonville, Arkansas, and received a degree in Early Childhood Education from Oklahoma Christian University. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2015 and teach Kindergarten at Founders Classical Academy – Bentonville.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I have always loved learning and knew I wanted to be a kindergarten teacher from a young age. As a child, I remember being so excited for the first day of school and looking forward to one day sharing my passion for learning with my very own students.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me so many things. They have taught me to enjoy the simple things in life and the importance of being kind. Because of them, I have become a better teacher and a more patient person.
What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – Bentonville?
I am most proud of teaching students to read. Literacy is my favorite subject to teach, and by the end of this year, I will have taught over two hundred kindergarten and first-grade students. It is so rewarding to watch students who started the year not knowing how to read gain their confidence and learn to read and write independently by the end of the year.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
What I love most about working for ResponsiveEd is the support that comes with the ability to teach classically. ResponsiveEd does a great job of creating an environment where, in addition to students having the opportunity to grow, teachers and staff succeed and are supported.
