Premier High School – Palmview Teacher Sergio Femat

At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.

This week, we sat down with Sergio Femat, who teaches several career and technical education (CTE) courses at Premier High School – Palmview

Tell Us About Yourself

I am from Mission, Texas, and graduated from the University of Texas Pan-American with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2011, where I teach career and technical education (CTE) courses, including Child Development and Anatomy and Physiology at Premier High School – Palmview.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I began working for the Boys and Girls Club in Mission after graduating high school and quickly developed a passion for working with children of all ages. Seeing firsthand the impact I had on these kids only fueled that passion and encouraged me to pursue a career in teaching.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

My students have taught me patience and understanding. With each group of students, I look forward to learning about their different personalities and strengths. It encourages me to understand them individually to help them reach their full potential.

What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – Palmview?

I am most proud of our faculty and staff’s impact on so many individuals. Year after year, we continue to see Alumni return to campus to visit and thank us for our efforts.

What do you like most about working for ResponsiveEd?

I love the campus community our faculty and staff have created and everyone’s eagerness to go above and beyond for each other. ResponsiveEd has made my time here an incredible experience, and I look forward to all the future holds.
