At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Katie Pinelli, who teaches Mathematics at iSchool High – Creekside.
Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, and received my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mathematics from Sam Houston State University. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2022 and teach all levels of math at iSchool High – Creekside.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I knew I wanted to become a teacher from a very young age. I always loved math, but like many, I had a series of math teachers who struggled to teach the subject. My passion for helping others and love for teaching inspired me to want to be a math teacher who made the subject fun!
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me there is no right or wrong way to learn. Over time, I have learned how to explain a single concept in several ways based on a student’s learning style.
What are you most proud of about your time with iSchool High – Creekside?
I am the most proud to be a part of such an incredible team. Every person works tirelessly throughout the year to create a safe and fun environment for all our students.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
I am most proud of the relationships I built with my students and colleagues throughout my time at the campus. They truly are the reason I love coming to work each day!
