At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Angelo Guanichaux, who teaches social studies at Premier High School – Austin (South).
Tell Us About Yourself
I am originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, and graduated from the University of Texas. While in college, I competed on the Texas speech team and received awards for informative, persuasive, impromptu, and humorous public speaking. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2022 and teach social studies at Premier High School – Austin (South).
What inspired you to become an educator?
Growing up, I had several teachers who left lasting impacts and showed me first-hand what it means to be a good educator. They went above and beyond to make sure every student felt supported and that every voice was heard.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me the value of being patient. When we are consistent and work hard, there is nothing we can’t achieve!
What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – Austin (South)?
I am most proud of my students’ performance on the US History STAAR exam. Each year, they amaze me by challenging themselves and working together to overcome obstacles.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
My favorite thing about working for ResponsiveEd is the passion and consideration each faculty member and staff have for their students. We all share the common goal of wanting to see our students succeed and become successful individuals.
