Tyler Classical Academy, a ResponsiveEd® charter school, held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 28 at its new location at 3405 East Grande Boulevard. Close to 200 people from the community turned out for the 4 p.m. ceremony including city councilman Bob Westbrook who read an official proclamation and presented it to Campus Director Paula Biddle.
“We were so impressed with the turnout from the community who came out to support our school and this beautiful schoolhouse,” said Biddle. “We’re so proud to be able to deliver quality education to children here in Tyler and this new building, along with the upper-level building to come, enables even more kids the opportunity to experience what we have to offer.”
Tyler Classical Academy began in 2012 at its original University Boulevard location. The new building on East Grande Boulevard is 34,548 square feet on 21 acres and houses nearly 500 kindergarten through ninth grade with plans to expand to 12th grade over the next three years.
