A unique aspect of our Premier High School campuses is the Career and Technical Education (CTE) options. Through these options, students receive job training, have opportunities to participate in paid or unpaid internships, receive industry-recognized certifications, and begin meaningful careers after graduation. In celebration of Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, we spoke with our Premier High School – Laredo about their CTE offering in Security Officer Level II.
Students interested in pursuing a law enforcement career can earn a Non-Commissioned Security Officer Level II License through the campus law enforcement program. This program provides students with essential skills and knowledge, preparing them for careers in law enforcement or further education in the field.
This program offers a comprehensive understanding of how laws are created and enforced across different branches of law enforcement. Through hands-on experiences and real-world applications, participating students will learn to assess legal situations, respond appropriately to law violations, and explore the underlying causes of criminal behavior.
“At Premier High School – Laredo, we take pride in providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary for future success,” said Laura Segundo, Lead CTE Teacher. “We are committed to preparing our students for real-world opportunities, and the Security Officer Level II certification provides them with a strong foundation to pursue their professional goals.”
Why Career and Technical Education (CTE)? Students can begin training for a career while earning their diploma. CTE gives students the skills and training to further their education and pursue meaningful careers in high-demand professions.
