This week, Premier High School – Abilene announced its plans to expand its Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. Premier High School’s CTE programs give students access to career and technical courses that prepare them for well-paying jobs after graduation.
The school’s new entrepreneurship program debuts in the fall and will allow students to gain valuable real-life experience in various fields, like digital media, marketing, and computer science.
“We want to ensure these students have something other than a piece of paper when they walk that stage,” said Campus Director J.P. Reeves. “It just sets them up to be more successful in life,” he added. “With this program, they can start in the middle, instead of starting at the beginning.”
Official details of the expansion are still being finalized, but Reeves is hopeful the program will help students stand out to employers once they graduate. The school currently offers CTE courses in Forensic Science, Audio/Visual Technology, and Certified Medical Assistant Certification.
