Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator Carlos Cavazos

Meet our Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator for the Rio Grande Valley, Carlos Cavazos! Carlos has played a vital role in helping us provide hope for students in the Rio Grande Valley.

After joining the organization in 2015, Carlos served as one of the original staff members at what was previously known as Premier High School – Edinburg. During his time at the campus, he used his passion for training to work alongside teachers and administrators to open ResponsiveEd’s first CTE center, now Premier High School – Edinburg (Career & Technology Center). Later that year, Carlos and his team implemented the campus’ first CTE course, which soon evolved into the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Program. Today, you can find graduates of that first CNA program as registered nurses in hospitals across the Rio Grande Valley.

As a CTE Regional Coordinator, Carlos works with ResponsiveEd’s team of experienced coordinators to help campuses in their regions place students in CTE courses that lead to national certifications, including Certified Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, Welding, and more.

“The thought of playing a small part in the lives of students and being able to help these young men and women succeed through CTE is the most rewarding part of my career,” said Carlos. “Watching them go above and beyond to learn skills that will benefit them in the future inspires me and encourages me to want to do more for these students.”

Thank you for all your hard work, Carlos!
