Siena Dickey, a rising senior at Founders Classical Academy – Corinth, was selected to represent Denton, Texas, as a National Youth Correspondent to the 2023 Washington Journalism and Media Conference (WJMC). Her selection was rooted in her outstanding academic achievements and passion for Journalism and Media Studies.
Siena joined a select group of students from across the country who gathered in Fairfax, Virginia, to participate in several leadership development activities. The Washington Journalism and Media Conference equips young leaders like Siena with the skills, knowledge, and networks necessary to navigate the rapidly evolving media landscape. Held at the state-of-the-art campus of George Mason University, the week-long program offers aspiring journalists a one-of-a-kind experience through hands-on activities, decision-making simulations, and addressing real-world problems in the field.
Additionally, Siena had the opportunity to learn from renowned leaders in the media community, including prominent journalists, CEOs of major media outlets, and successful recent graduates.
