Our iSchool High and Quest Collegiate Academy campuses are known for their academic excellence, unique mastery-based curriculum, and now blossoming athletic opportunities for students in the Montgomery County area.

Starting the 2023-24 school year, iSchool High – The Woodlandspartnership with Lone Star College allows high school students to immerse themselves in college-level clubs and sports teams. Among these students is iSchool High – The Woodlands freshman Rebecca Pedersen. At only 15 years old, Rebecca is enrolled in two college courses at Lone Star College, paving her way to graduate high school with an associate’s degree.

This opportunity to enroll with the college as a high school freshman now allows Rebecca to join the Lone Star College Women’s Volleyball team as not only the youngest member of the team but also as a team captain.

“Rebecca is such a driven student, and we are incredibly proud of her and all our students participating in Lone Star College programs,” said iSchool High – The Woodlands Campus Director Michelon Thompson. “Through this partnership, students like Rebecca not only learn valuable skills like leadership, teamwork, and self-confidence, but they also have the opportunity to represent our campus on different stages.”

In addition to its partnership with Lone Star College, the high school has joined forces with another ResponsiveEd school, Quest Collegiate Academy – Shenandoah, to establish a cheer and dance team for students. The two campuses are working to create an environment that promotes teamwork, providing students across several grade levels the chance to participate in new athletic opportunities.

Under the guidance of Quest Collegiate Academy – Shenandoah teacher Jerika Fagen, the cheer and dance team, consisting of students in grades 5-9, spreads school spirit at various events throughout the school year.

“The response from students looking to join our team has been overwhelming,” Fagen shared. “This opportunity has not only united students from both campuses but has also empowered them to try new things and create long-lasting friendships.”

As the team gears up for the upcoming school year, they expect to join the Honor Charter Athletics League (HCA) and compete against teams across the state. Through a shared commitment to excellence, Quest Collegiate Academy – Shenandoah and iSchool High -The Woodlands students are rewriting what it means to be part of a thriving academic community.
