Founders Classical Academy – Frisco fifth-grade student Sana Sarath has set her sights on something big, aiming to make a name for herself on the national fencing stage.
Earlier this month, Sana showcased her skill and determination at the prestigious USA Fencing North American Cup (NAC). Organized by USA Fencing, the North American Cup is one of the premier national competitions in the sport, bringing together some of the top youth, junior, and senior fencers from across the United States. With highly competitive fields in each age group, the NAC series represents some of the highest levels of youth fencing in the country.

Competing in the Youth 12 (Y12) sabre division, Sana rose to the top of a national field of talented fencers, finishing first and claiming the gold medal. Winning a NAC event is a significant milestone, requiring athletes to advance through multiple elimination rounds against highly skilled opponents. Her success is the result of dedicated training at Frisco Fencing Academy under Head Coach Christopher Slaughter, who has played an important role in her development and growth in the sport.
Despite her demanding training and tournament schedule, Sana continues to excel at Founders Classical Academy – Frisco, showing the same discipline, focus, and determination in the classroom that she brings to the fencing strip.
