At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Michele Mouton, who teaches Science at Ignite Community School – Mainland.
Tell Us About Yourself
I am originally from Galveston, Texas, and earned my Bachelor’s degree in Animal and Poultry Science, with dual minors in Biology and Wildlife Science. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2018 and teach Science at Ignite Community School – Mainland.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I have been working with children since I was a teenager. I love sharing my knowledge and experiences with my students and showing them they can accomplish anything they set their minds to.ย
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me that laughing and having fun in the classroom is an important aspect of learning and can help bring lessons to life.
What are you most proud of about your time with Ignite Community School – Mainland?
I am most proud of the relationships I have developed with my students and my colleagues. We genuinely feel like one big family. We all work towards a common goal to serve our students and their families.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
My favorite thing about working for ResponsiveEd is that everyone is always willing to lend a listening ear and is there to support you and help you grow as an educator.ย
