In honor of our 25th anniversary, ResponsiveEd proudly reflects on the stories, successes, and organization members over the years. One example of an instrumental member of our mission through the years is former Vista Academy of Hickory Creek (now Founders Classical Academy – Corinth) Campus Director Andrea Gahler.

Her career in education began in 2001 as a Kindergarten teacher for Grapevine/Colleyville ISD. Drawn by new opportunities, she transitioned to Dallas ISD before learning about a blossoming charter school in the area, Vista Academy of Hickory Creek, which sparked her interest in a fresh educational approach.
Embracing the challenge and armed with a passion for education, she took on the role of campus director, working tirelessly alongside staff and the community to build relationships and recruit families. Within a year, the campus flourished, boasting an extensive wait list of over 300 families looking to take advantage of the unique academic opportunity offered by the school.
“What we were able to do that first year was provide a different approach to education. Parents were looking for something different. They wanted their child not just to be a number,” said Andrea. “Since then, I have grown to see these students flourish as young adults, with many who have finished their schooling with ResponsiveEd.”
Her success as campus director propelled her to spearhead professional development initiatives at ResponsiveEd’s Home Office and later as regional director, involved in accrediting our Texas College Preparatory Academies (TCPA) district.
“ResponsiveEd allowed me to grow as an educator and encouraged me to take on new challenges,” she said. “Building lifelong relationships with faculty and staff and witnessing firsthand the result of hard work and dedication is the most rewarding thing I have accomplished in my professional career.”
Andrea’s story is a testament to the impact of the ResponsiveEd mission on students and those who lead them. Through hard work and commitment to serving her community, Andrea has provided hope for countless families seeking alternative educational paths.
