Tell Us About Yourself

I am originally from Huntington, Texas, and hold an Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration. I served nine years in the U.S. Army and spent the next five years with Veterans Affairs, supporting our veterans and their families. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2022 and serve as a Special Education Paraprofessional at Founders Classical Academy – Bastrop.

What inspired you to become an educator?

Growing up in a large family and having a sibling with Down Syndrome sparked a lifelong passion for working with children. As a paraprofessional, my goal is for every student to feel safe, supported, and cared for from the moment they arrive until the moment they leave. At ResponsiveEd, I am proud to be part of shaping students into thoughtful, capable members of society.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

My students have taught me that, as educators, one of the best ways we can help them succeed is simply by listening.

What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – Bastrop?

I am proud to be part of a community that values continuous learning and believes in growing through shared experiences and collaboration.

What do you like most about being an educator at your campus?

My favorite thing about ResponsiveEd is the strong sense of support. There is always someone willing to offer guidance, and that spirit of teamwork truly makes a difference.

What is a memorable moment you can share from the classroom?:

One of my most memorable moments was when one student leaned over and told another how well she had done on a recitation. Seeing students lift up and support one another is incredibly rewarding.
