Tell Us About Yourself.

I am originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, but have lived in Texas for 30 years. My husband and I have two sons, one of whom is a sophomore at Founders Classical Academy – Flower Mound. Before becoming a teacher, I worked with the American Red Cross in education and disaster management. I later returned to school and earned my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction – English in 2022. I now teach ELAR and composition at Founders Classical Academy – Flower Mound.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I come from a family of educators—both parents were teachers, and my grandfather was a teacher, coach, principal, and eventually a superintendent. Growing up in that environment, they inspired me to pursue a career in education and share my passion with others.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

My students have taught me the value of patience, the power of creativity, and the importance of finding joy in everyday moments.

What are you most proud of about your time with Founders Classical Academy – Flower Mound?

I am most proud of the relationships I have built with my students. I work to make sure they know how happy I am to see them each day, and they can always count on me to offer support and encouragement.

What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?

My favorite thing about my campus is being able to teach the classical curriculum alongside passionate and hardworking teachers and administrators.
