At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Jeanine Moguel, who teaches second grade at El Paso Classical Academy.

Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in El Paso and hold education and public health degrees. Over the last seven years, I have taught first, second, and third grade and have received the TEA Teacher Recognition for the past two years. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2020 and teach second grade at El Paso Classical Academy.
What inspired you to become an educator?
My aunt, a Special Education Teacher for 42 years, has been a tremendous inspiration to me. During summers and school breaks, I would accompany her to work, witnessing firsthand the impact she had on her students’ lives. Those experiences ignited my desire to make a difference in the lives of students and become a teacher myself.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have shown me how uniquely each person learns—there’s no one-size-fits-all approach, shaping me as a teacher and pushing me to adapt my teaching methods to fit my students’ needs. They’ve also taught me the value of building strong relationships. Taking the time to understand my students and using that insight to support their growth has significantly impacted my classroom.
What are you most proud of about your time with El Paso Classical Academy?
I am most proud of how ResponsiveEd has challenged me and supported my growth as an educator. I continue to learn and improve each year through professional development, Reading Academies, and other opportunities.
What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?
My favorite thing about working for ResponsiveEd is the unique opportunities it has provided me to grow and become a better educator.
