At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.

This week, we sat down with Dominique Aleman, who teaches science at Premier High School – El Paso (Eastpointe)

Tell Us About Yourself

I was born and raised in El Paso and graduated from the University of Texas at El Paso with a bachelor’s degree in ecology and evolutionary biology. I joined ResponsiveEd in the fall of 2020 and teach biology, physics, and environmental systems at Premier High School – El Paso (Eastpointe).

What inspired you to become an educator?

Coming from a family of educators, I have always had a passion for teaching. I love seeing my students experience those “ah-ha” moments, and knowing that I positively impact their lives inspires me daily.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

My students have taught me that there is always more than one way to solve a problem. Each student is unique and brings different qualities to the classroom, and I enjoy getting to know them individually and finding new and fun ways to help them succeed.

What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – El Paso (Eastpointe)?

I am most proud of my student’s progress and growth in the classroom. They come to class each day with a strong work ethic and determination to overcome obstacles, which is truly admirable.

What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?

I love working for ResponsiveEd because of the opportunities they provide for students and their families regardless of where they are on their academic journey. Additionally, I am grateful to work with dedicated teachers who make it their mission to help all students reach their full potential. Their guidance and support inspire me to be the best teacher possible for my students.
