Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. I earned a degree in Spanish from California State University, Los Angeles, and later completed a Master’s in Educational Leadership at Lamar University. I have over 15 years of experience in education and hold an Educator Certificate in Spanish 6-12. I joined ResponsiveEd this past August and teach English I-IV at iSchool High – Atascocita.
What inspired you to become an educator?
While working as a teacher’s assistant in college, I discovered my passion for teaching. Several of my professors had a lasting impact on me, and through that experience, I realized I wanted to dedicate my career to making the same kind of difference in the lives of others.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me that learning is a two-way street. Each student brings unique strengths, skills, and qualities that make the classroom special.
What are you most proud of about your time with iSchool High – Atascocita?
I am most proud of the hard work my students have put into their coursework and the progress they have already made in such a short time.
What do you like most about being an educator at your campus?
What I appreciate most about working with ResponsiveEd is the independence and responsibility students are given over their own education. This approach empowers them to take ownership of their learning and grow both academically and personally.
