iSchool High – Atascocita Teacher Amanda Harrison
At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.
This week, we sat down with Amanda Harrison, who teaches science at iSchool High – Atascocita.
Tell Us About Yourself
I am originally from Madisonville, Texas, and graduated from Sam Houston State University with a degree in mathematics. After earning my teaching certification, I began my career teaching math and statistics at Humble ISD, where I taught for 15 years. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2024 and teach biology, chemistry, environmental systems, and aquatic science at iSchool High – Atascocita.
What inspired you to become an educator?
I have always enjoyed helping others and finding ways to make learning fun and engaging. Growing up, several excellent teachers inspired me, and I wanted to make the same meaningful impact on others.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students often remind me of the importance of perseverance. Seeing their persistence in the classroom motivates me to continuously improve as an educator and to approach obstacles with the same mindset.
