At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district.

This week, we sat down with Adriana Sanchez-Coleman, who teaches several Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses at Premier High School – Arlington.

Tell Us About Yourself

I am originally from Houston and graduated from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2021, where I teach career and technical education (CTE) courses at Premier High School – Arlington.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I have always wanted to give back to my community and support students in underserved areas. I enjoy helping students reach their goals and discover new interests through CTE courses. Witnessing student growth and progress is the true highlight of each day.

What are some things that your students have taught you?

The most valuable things my students have taught me are patience and the importance of building meaningful relationships. It is vital that all students feel seen and heard, and I firmly believe that building positive relationships is what helps students reach their full potential.

What are you most proud of about your time with Premier High School – Arlington?

I am most proud to be a member of a team that works tirelessly to grow our campus’ CTE and Industry Based Certification (IBC) programs. Knowing that our students leave our high school career-certified and ready to enter the workforce is incredibly rewarding.

What do you like most about being an educator for your campus?

I love working for ResponsiveEd because of the supportive staff who go out of their way to show that they care about me as a person and my professional growth. Our leadership, in particular, has been a great support system in providing extra resources and having meaningful conversations and feedback that ensure my success here.

What is a memorable moment you can share from the classroom?

The 2022-2023 school year was the first year we implemented our Phlebotomy class, and every student passed their state exam! It was truly one of my most memorable moments to see the excitement on students’ faces, not only for themselves but for their classmates, too.
