Lewisville, TX – Responsive Education Solutions (ResponsiveEd), one of the nation’s largest and most established charter school networks, has been awarded $72 million from the U.S. Department of Education. The grant will expand capacity, increase access to high-quality charter schools for all students, and improve student outcomes across Texas, Arkansas, Arizona, and Ohio. This funding is part of the Department’s record-breaking $500 million investment in the Charter Schools Programs (CSP) —the largest in the program’s history.
“This grant affirms the value of the education, choice, and results ResponsiveEd delivers to families,” said Chuck Cook, CEO of ResponsiveEd. “For over 25 years, we have provided innovative, personalized learning environments, and we are excited to expand our impact, helping more students reach their goals, succeed academically, and transform their futures across four states.”
“A one-size fits all education system is not working for our students. Charter schools allow for innovative educational models that expand learning opportunities for students,” U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon said in the Department’s announcement. “The Trump Administration will continue to use every available tool to advocate for meaningful learning, advance school choice, and ensure every student is well-positioned to succeed.”
For over 25 years, ResponsiveEd has provided families across Texas and Arkansas with the flexibility and choice to decide where their children attend school. With a dedicated team delivering high-quality education, ResponsiveEd has become a trusted leader in the charter school movement, preparing thousands of students to graduate high school ready for college, career, and to contribute to the region’s expanding workforce.
ResponsiveEd will utilize the funding to increase access to high-quality educational options and provide greater school choice for families, particularly in underserved communities. Through strategic resource allocation, targeted initiatives, and rigorous oversight, the funds will help support the launch of new schools, broaden PreK opportunities, and introduce a parent support toolkit. The grant will:
- Build capacity – Strengthen infrastructure to support instructional development, program delivery, and information systems, enhancing learning opportunities in both new and existing schools.
- Expand access – Increase opportunities for educationally disadvantaged students to attend high-quality charter schools.
- Improve student outcomes – Prepare students to achieve and maintain high academic performance in accordance with state standards and graduate ready for college and careers.
By building capacity, expanding access, and improving outcomes, ResponsiveEd will equip students with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive beyond graduation.
