When Cruz Cardenas chose Premier High School of Mission he was looking for something different fromย the traditional public school. As he saw his test scores improve he realized he was capable of more.
“At that point, I knew it wasn’t necessarily just going for the bare minimum, I could actually try to be the best,” he said.
With the help of his teachers and the encouragement of his mother Cruz graduated valedictorian. He is excited to see all his handwork pay off with scholarship offers.
“I came to this school just wanting a better life. I came I excelled and now I’m Valedictorian. If you just try you will never know what will come out of it,” said Cruz.
