After she finished middle school, Blanca Lopez dropped out of school. After six years she realized she needed a high school diploma, and she started assessing her options.
“I got to a point where I knew I couldn’t just stay like that with a middle school education. There was no way I was going to get anywhere with that,” said Lopez.
She chose Premier High School of Austin because it allowed her to work at her own pace.
“The thing that appealed to me the most was the fact that nobody could tell me how much I had to do or how little I could do, that I could work at my own pace, but they were still pushing me to keep going,” said Lopez.
Graduating valedictorian in 2014, Lopez says Premier gave back to her the goal of going to college.
