At just 16 years old, Premier High School – Abilene graduate Jacob Lett has achieved a major milestone: earning his high school diploma a year and a half early. Like many students, Jacob found that a traditional high school setting did not align with his learning style or personal goals. Seeking a more flexible environment where he could work independently and move at a faster pace, Jacob chose to enroll at Premier High School – Abilene.
The campus’s emphasis on custom-paced learning and mastery-based instruction provided Jacob with the opportunity to take control of his education and progress at a pace appropriate for him.
“Premier gave me the freedom to focus on my goals and work without distractions,” Jacob said. “Being able to move at my own pace helped me stay motivated and finish sooner than I thought was possible.”
Although transitioning to a nontraditional campus came with its own challenges, Jacob quickly realized he had found an environment that supported both his academic and personal growth. With personalized support and the ability to work independently, Jacob earned his high school diploma from Premier High School – Abilene in October, 2025.
In addition to flexible schedules, Premier High School – Abilene offers Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs such as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) and Electrician pathways, designed to prepare students for in-demand careers. Through partnerships with McMurry University and Cisco College, students also have access to dual credit opportunities, allowing them to earn college credit while completing their high school diploma.
“Jacob’s story shows what can happen when students are given the opportunity to learn in a way that works best for them,” said Ross Cline, Assistant Campus Director at Premier High School – Abilene. “By meeting students where they are and providing strong academic and career pathways, we help them stay on track and prepare for meaningful futures.”
Looking ahead, Jacob is focused on turning his early achievement into long-term success. He plans to pursue an apprenticeship in the electrical trade, where he can apply the skills and independence he developed during his time at Premier.
