This month, ResponsiveEd joins schools nationwide in celebrating Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month. CTE courses prepare students for high-wage, high-demand careers in various fields, including healthcare, information technology, architecture, construction, and many more. Thanks to an ever-expanding CTE program, students at several campuses across our district can receive industry-recognized certifications upon high school graduation.
In honor of this celebration, we are honored to recognize our Regional Career and Technical Education (CTE) Coordinator for the Gulf Coast Region, Kimberly Clayton! Kimberly has called ResponsiveEd home since 2020 and has played a vital role in helping us provide hope for students in the Gulf Coast Region.
Before joining ResponsiveEd, Kimberly spent 12 years teaching in three of the largest school districts in Houston. During that time, she discovered her passion for helping students learn trade skills and find various career opportunities post-high school graduation.
As a CTE Regional Coordinator, Kimberly serves 17 ResponsiveEd campuses and ensures their CTE programs have the resources needed for student success. Since first taking on this role, Kimberly has implemented the Commercial Drone Pilot program, now housed across eight Premier High School campuses.
“I love the diversity of CTE courses that ResponsiveEd offers,” said Kimberly. “I am proud to have played a part in opening our first P-TECH program, which partners with a local community college and business partners to offer Welding, Automotive, Construction, and Medical pathways.”
Thank you for all your hard work in providing hope through meaningful career training, Kimberly!
Why Career and Technical Education (CTE)? Students can begin training for a career while earning their diploma. CTE gives students the skills and training to further their education and pursue meaningful careers in high-demand professions.
