Gavin Meeks, a student at iSchool High – Atascocita, has spent many years in remarkable places. Raised in Houston, his family set on several adventures that took them to incredible destinations, including Germany and Hawaii when his father reenlisted in the military.

Since enrolling at iSchool High – Atascocita two years ago, he has taken advantage of the unique opportunities offered through the campus mastery-based curriculum and dual-credit partnership with Lone Star College. Now in his senior year of high school, he is fully immersed in college courses, preparing himself for the challenges of higher education and an aviation career.
“I’ve really enjoyed my time at iSchool,” Gavin said. “Having moved schools so many times, the students and teachers here really make it feel like home.”
Gavin credits his experiences at iSchool High for preparing him for the next chapter of his life. “The flexibility of our curriculum and our focus on college readiness is a great fit for so many students like Gavin looking to get ahead in their studies,” said Campus Director Trisha Robinson.
His dedication and focus have already paid off, with acceptances to four universities, including Letourneau University and Florida Tech. Ultimately, Gavin has decided to attend Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a globally recognized aviation and aerospace education leader in Daytona Beach, Florida.
With a lifelong passion for aviation, Gavin wants to become a commercial pilot, flying for United Airlines or another major carrier. His hard work, determination, and strong academic foundation built at iSchool High position him well to achieve this dream.
