Students from Ignite Community Schools and Quest Collegiate Academy – Fort Worth (Trinity River) recently participated in the fourth annual Youth Gaming Tournament & Tech Expo presented by the DFW Metro NAACP on March 7. The event brought together competitive gaming, STEM learning, coding, robotics, and technology career exploration in an interactive experience designed for youth ages 10–18 and their families.

Throughout the day, students had the opportunity to compete in gaming tournaments while also engaging with interactive tech exhibits, vendors, and STEM professionals. The expo highlighted how gaming can serve as a gateway to learning valuable skills in technology, problem-solving, and teamwork.

“Events like this give our students the chance to see how their interests can connect to real opportunities in technology and innovation,” said Ronald Shepard, Director of School Operations for Ignite Community Schools. “We’re proud to see our students participating, learning, and exploring the many pathways available to them in STEM and tech careers.”

Events like the Youth Gaming Tournament & Tech Expo help inspire the next generation of innovators by connecting students with real-world career pathways. For Ignite Community Schools and Quest Collegiate Academy students, the experience offered both fun competition and a deeper look into the expanding world of tech and STEM careers.
