At Premier High School and TexasWorks – Granbury, great teachers change lives every day. Recently, one of the campus’s most dedicated educators received special recognition for doing just that. Earlier this month, math teacher Donna Dumas was honored with the Jack Harvey Exemplary Teacher Award from Weatherford College.

The award is presented through the college’s Jack Harvey Academy of Exemplary Teachers, an annual program that celebrates exceptional educators across the region. Each year, 49 teachers are selected for their dedication to teaching excellence and their commitment to student success.
For Donna Dumas, the recognition reflects more than three decades of dedication to helping students achieve academic success. With over 30 years of experience as an educator, she has spent the past four years teaching at Premier High School and TexasWorks – Granbury, where she continues to support students pursuing flexible pathways to earn their high school diplomas and career certification. Through dedication and encouragement, she helps students overcome challenges and build confidence in math, often one of the most intimidating subjects for learners.
“Ms. Dumas is an incredible educator who truly cares about helping every student succeed,” said Campus Director Marsha Grissom. “Her passion for teaching and her commitment to supporting students make a lasting difference in our classrooms. We are so proud to see her recognized with this amazing award.”
The Jack Harvey Exemplary Teacher Award highlights educators who go above and beyond in their classrooms, and Dumas’ career exemplifies that commitment. With her decades of experience and her ongoing dedication to students in Granbury, she continues to inspire those around her through her passion for teaching.
