At ResponsiveEd, we are focused not only on the success of our students but on the achievements and growth of our talented educators leading the way. As we assemble the best collection of talent around to inspire and provide hope for students, we are honored to spotlight those already making a difference in the lives of our students across the district. This week, we sat down with Sutapa Ghorai, who teaches mathematics at Founders Classical Academy – West Little Rock.
Tell Us About Yourself
I was born and raised in India, earning physics and electrical engineering degrees. For as long as I can remember, I have wanted to make learning fun and accessible for all students. I joined ResponsiveEd in 2022 and teach mathematics at Founders Classical Academy – West Little Rock.
What inspired you to become an educator?
My love of learning and the lasting impact of my teachers inspired my passion for education. Their ability to turn often complex subjects like math and science into engaging experiences encouraged me to do the same for others. I aspired to share my passion for these subjects, helping students realize their potential and making learning meaningful and enjoyable.
What are some things that your students have taught you?
My students have taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and embracing diverse perspectives. Their curiosity and questions have inspired me to tackle challenges from new angles and value each student’s unique insights. They’ve reminded me that teaching goes beyond delivering knowledge—it’s about learning and growing alongside them.
